Crochet: BLOCK STITCH Baby Blanket

One of my favourite stitch, very enjoyable while doing it.

Especially if you have match colours, beautiful build it up :)

I use NAKO (Luks Minnos) baby yarn and size 3.5 mm crochet hook.

You can change colours at the end of any row if you wish, or you can use one colour depends on your feelings really:)

- Make your chains in multiples of 3.
- Turn and in the 4th chain from the hook start dc(double crochet) stitches all of the way to the end.
-(change the colour if you wish) and chain 3.
skip 2 stitches and sc(single crochet) in the third.
continue this down the length, chain 3, skip 2 chains, sc in the third.
- (change coulrs if you wish) and chain 3, dc twice in the first open space from the previous row.
continue down the length with 3 dc in each space until you reach the end.
- turn and continue to repeat the row followed by the 3 dc in each space of the previous row.

Edging:
Join with any colour to any stitch on final row, chain 1, and sc all around the blanket. and please do 3sc in each corner. (even you can do second round of sc) then fasten off and weave in all tails.
ALSO you can like this:(below).
This is from one of my favourite web page:  Angie's web page:
According of my project, I changed a little bid, but I was touched by Angie's border.

NOW YOU DESERVE to drink one brilliant cup of coffee or tea and look at your gorgeous work!
ENJOY IT :)    Oya Mearns.

  1. I am interested in making this as an adult Afghan. Is it possible to use this pattern? If so, how many chains should I start with? how many rows would I need? And what size hook would I need to use? Of course, I would not use baby yarn. Thank you for any help you can give me.

    1. I'm not a professional but as long as you chain in multiples of 3 I would just lay it down and see if that is how big you would like it. As far as not using baby yarn, look on the skein of yarn and it will tell you what size hook you should use. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep hooking!!! xo

  3. You need 3 chains for each set of DC, so, if you want it 30 sets of dc's, you need 90 chains. that's how i understand it

  5. It is very important to keep the wrapping of all wool you use, as this usually will provide you with washing instructions. billigt raggsocksgarn

  7. I too found it a little confusing so I wrote the pattern out myself, almost exactly as you have written. So yes, I agree with your interpretation and that the pattern is a repeat of rows 2 & 3. It's a lovely pattern, I will enjoy making this one! Thank you Oya
